Perspective: It's An Amazing Thing

I just got some serious perspective. I am involved with a Beth Moore Bible Study and we had another lesson today. And for me this particular lesson hit home big time. It resonated with me. It wasn't a soft or an easy lesson but a harsh reality. In other words it was a definite in your face kind of message. And it was hard to hear but I think I needed to hear it. I feel there was a reason I heard this message today. It was a wake up call of sorts. I won't go into details but I am going through somethings and today just reminded me that things have to change. The private sin has to stop before it's made public. And I don't want this to be public. I don't want it out. Let me assure everyone that it's in NO WAY shape or form anything illegal or morally wrong. But it's wrong for me. And well it's a rather common issue, probably more common than most people are willing to admit. So I know I am not alone even though it feels like it at times. But after this lesson, I think I have finally learned that it has to change. I cannot go forward in life until it is resolved. So Perspective is realy an amazing thing. I believe we can all use alot of it. Yes the way mine was delievered was harsh but I think I needed harsh. Hopefully you don't.

Thanks for listening. This is short I know but I needed it too be. lol

STFU & Let's Save GH!

Okay people, seriously STFU and let's save GH! All of this infighting is getting us no where except a GH cancellation. I am sick of it. I am sick of all the pycho Jasam fans who are repeatedly attacking and threatening Frank Valentini and Ron Carlivati all because your couple wasn't on GH this past week. GET OVER YOURSELVES! I mean seriously these people are acting like immature bratty spoiled rotten children. And to all those people who are continuing to complain about the One Life to Live castmembers who are on GH, STFU! They are not taking over the show. They are there to make the show interesting. Face facts GH needed some rejuvination. It was dying. What all you brainless morons who want to complain about your couple or your favorite actor/actress not being shown every second of the show everyday, seem to not get is that IF this show is cancelled who the hell are you going to root for? Facts do not lie. Ratings were shit before Ron and Frank came on. If it weren't for Ron and Frank coming on, there would be no hope for GH. But hey if you want to lie yourselves and believe otherwise go right ahead but there would have been a day that you turned on your TV to watch the show and it wouldn't be there. This save GH campaign ISN'T about getting a certain couple or getting an actor or actress more airtime it's about SAVING people's JOBS! We are trying to save a legacy show. We are trying to save what others are calling a dying breed. We RARELY mention any couple or actor or actress. In fact we call it #TeamGH, not TeamWhoever. All of this petty infighting is getting us no where. Want to know why ABC cancelled AMC & OLTL first? Because they knew it would cause an uproar and they were hoping to distract us from the fact that GH could be next. They figured all the fanbase wars would cause us fans to implode and no one would notice if GH was cancelled. And look what is happening. Certain fanbases are trying to prove them right. If you ONLY watch the show because of a couple or because of an actor or actress then you probably aren't a true GH fan because you don't enjoy the whole show. Instead if the person or persons you are rooting for isn't or aren't on then you bitch and moan and threaten not to watch again. Real mature people. The cruelity of the tweets toward Ron and Frank are disgusting and highly inappropriate. And I promise you all you are doing is making sure your case isn't heard. GROW UP! I am sorry for this rant but tonight a great man who has been a giant force in our cause to save #TeamGH has been repeatedly attacked and deleted his twitter, and facebook accounts and now I learn may not be continiuing his AWESOME radio show. The twitter and facebook deletion doesn't bother me as much as him not doing his radio show. All this man has been doing is trying to save a show that he loves and save a genre that he is deeply passionate about. And for the haters to be so incrediably cruel is inappropriate and wrong. You disagree with him, fine that is your right but do not attack him and degrade him for his opinion. The attacks have to stop. It's wrong on so many levels.

Thanks!

Saving GH:Why it's NOT about a Soap Couple Anymore

Many of us have been on this campaign to save the ABC soap General Hospital and to hopefully get All My Children and One Life to Live back on the air. The most promident campaign is called "The Buttercup Army". And yes I admit that it did start out as a campaign to bring back the REAL Jason Morgan because for so long the character has been a pod person. And yes it a few members are apart of the Liason fanbase (Jason and Elizabeth Fans) but this campaign isn't about us wanting a soap couple together. The Buttercup Army is about keeping General Hospital on the air. It's about saving a legacy. It's about holding Anne Sweeny to her word. It's about restoring General Hospital to it's former glory. What this campaign is NOT about is one actor/actress or soap couple. This isn't some fanbase war. This about saving a show so many people love. My grandmother is 90 years old and has been watching soaps since the 1960's. She isn't a fan of one particular pairing or one particular actor or actress. She simply is a fan of soaps. She enjoys watching them. She was heartbroken when it was announced that AMC and OLTL were being axed. She told me she enjoys so little tv these days and that she loved watching her soaps. Now she only has two soaps she watches, General Hopsital and Young And The Restless. I haven't had the heart to tell her GH is in danger of cancellation and I won't unless there is some news to tell her. I am hoping I won't have to do that. She like so many have been faithful viewers of General Hospital and soaps. This campaign is about people like her, loyal viewers who don't want their show to be gone. We have ONE last shot at this people. Forget the stupid fanbase wars. Please do not prove ABC right in that these stupid wars will cause us to implode and cause GH to be cancelled. This is about saving a show that means so much to so many. They say soaps are a dying breed, we need to prove this statement wrong. I don't care if you hate one couple or love another. I don't care if you adore one actor/actress or hate them. It doesn't matter anymore. What matters is saving this show. Without the show there won't be any couple or person to root for. We need to forget the crap, and band together to save this show. Fans banded together when Rebecca Herbst was fired, and it didn't matter who you wanted her character paired with, we just did what needed to be done and saved her job. Now is the time to band together and fight with everything we have. Ratings matter people. Watch the show live if you can, DVR the show (even if you want live), watch online, let it be viewed as many times as possible. Even if you just turn it on and walk away and don't sit down and actually watch I don't care as long as it is on in your home. Remember on the DVR to make sure it was recorded because on Friday March 2, DVR's across the country didn't record the episode. It is believed this was an deliberate move although no one knows for sure yet but the fact that some have it recorded and others don't smells fishy to me. This is why this fight is so important. This tells me ABC is as dirty as they come if they pull this crap. Also there have been so many haters who are being threatening and down right cruel. These people clearly aren't true fans of GH. They just want a certain pairing or a certain actor/actress to shine, they don't care about the rest. And they should. General Hospital is worth saving. So let's save it!

Saving Our Soap: Why I Watch General Hospital

It's been a long time since I've written anything on this blog, not since 2009 but I felt the need to make this post in light of recent events.

Last night a beloved radio show host on blog talk radio felt the need to take a leave of absence for awhile because of a group of malicious, vindictive so called fans of the soap General Hospital that in my opinion are not fans of the show at all but simply fans of one person and/or couple on the show. And instead of seeing the bigger picture which is to save the show, they want to be petty and childish and complain about the most mudane things like the show's opening. Give me a break, no one gives a damn about something that dumb. The opening is rather meaningless compared to the overall show. And really most people who DVR it usually fast forward through it anyway. The fact that it's shorter is better because it leaves more time for the show which is the more important of the two things. Now don't get me wrong I am not upset that this person is taking a leave of absence because honestly I think they need it. This person needs to recharge and take a much needed vacation. I am upset at the reason they are doing it because they don't deserve to be attacked in such a manner. This person works their ass off everyday trying to save GH because they are deeply passionate about it and because they love the show. They don't want to see it die. So to all the haters out there just SHUT UP! You have no business watching GH if you aren't a fan of the overall show. It's okay to like an actor/actress and to like a a certain pairing and it's okay to root for them but right now we need to save the show because if cancelled then you won't have a couple or actor/actress to root for because they will be out of a job. The show won't be there to have anyone to root for anymore. We are all deeply passionate about some aspect of the show but for right now we need to refocus that passion on keeping it on the air. So just watch it or just have it on the tv and let air in the background if you don't care to watch it. I don't care just have it on. We need the ratings. Don't let ABC destroy a piece of history for something that will likely bomb. Okay enough about that. Now on to something else.

I've only been watching GH since about 1995, so not extremly long. I will admit I am young, I am only thirty so I wasn't around for the majority of GH. I remember seeing Stone die and Robin grieve. I remember Jason getting to his accident and becoming Jason Morgan. I remember Sonny leaving Brenda at the alter and Jason breaking then news to her. I remember Jason getting shot at Robin's house by the the Tin man and her being afraid to touch him because of her HIV. I remember Robin making Sonny fire Jason because she was terrified. I remember Robin betraying Jason by telling AJ about Michael. I remember Emily going through her drug use and Elizabeth getting rape. I remember her confronting her rapist. I remember when Lucky died in the fire and how Elizabeth grieved. I remember Jason and Elizabeth becoming friends. I remember so many things. Mostly I remember being hooked and not being able to wait to come home and watch GH. But among all those memories I also remember the not so good times. I remember when Brian Frons became in charge and started systematically destroying a once proud history rich show. I remember his agenda driven storylines that nearly killed GH and how he seemingly played favorites, how he intentionally plummed ratings in favor of a flavor of the month. He shoved characters down our throats day after day and he played character assaination more than once. For example he turned one of the most popular actors/characters into a pod person. I speak of course of the wonderfull Steve Burton. He drug that man's reputation through the mud on numerous occasions simply for someone who didn't deserve the star power she got. During this man's regime he continued to bring on newbie after newbie and started killing off beloved characters like Alan Quartermaine, Georgie Jones, Emily Quartermaine, AJ Quartermaine and finally Elizabeth's beloved son Jake. And for what, some stupid plot point that made no sense to us. It was done to further his sick and twisted agenda. For so many GH fans the final straw was when the killed Jake for no reason other than to stick it to a fanbase of a couple. And for others the final straw was when Rebecca Herbst was fired. These two events cause a firestorm of conterversy and sent down a backlash that I am sure is still felt today. We fans banded together to save Becky's job and now we must do it to save General Hospital. But lucky for us a mircale happened and Brian Frons was fired from his position of power. And now we have a new wonderful writing team headed by the truly awsome Ron Carlivati and excutive producer Frank Valenti. You can already see the massive change. Characters are finally being written in character instead being whitewashed. And things are finally moving in a positive direction. For the first time in a decade I recogonize General Hospital again. Isn't that worth saving? I think so.

Been Awhile

It's been awhile since I lasted posted. Life just got in the way for good long time and well I kinda forgot I had this blog. I'm not sure if anyone is reading anything of this but hey if you are thanks. I actually thought of this blog again after seeing the movie "Juile and Juila". It's based on a true story of this chic Juile who starts this blog about cooking her way through Juila Childs cookbook in a years time. I walked away from the movie wanting to cook something. I sorta think of myself as a chef/cook even though I dropped out of culinary school after only a few months. It was way to stressfull and high pressure. I prefer to take my time and savor what I am cooking not feel rushed through it and besides I gained about 15lbs during this time thanks to all the rich, calorie filled dishes we made. The thing about going to culinary school or at least the one I went to you have to eat what you cook and let me tell you alot of what we cooked had tons of butter, and well fat. Basically all the bad stuff that makes food so damm good. Although I have found that butter isn't all that bad for you as long as you don't consume it in mass quanities. And yes I mean REAL butter not that fake tub stuff that has an ingredient list I can't even begin to pronounce. Just look at one 1 day and see for yourself. Anyway watching the movie got me in a creative mood. I have all these ideas for recipes running through my head. I love to cook and from what I am told it's something I am good at. I love to just come up with something on the spur of the moment. Sometimes it comes from a recipe I've done before and I just do a variation on it or I just come up with something completly new. Cooking for me is thrapy for me. It's a cauthatic experience and allows me to let loose and not think about anything except the meal that is to come. Right now I am trying to develope a recipe for Hawaian chicken. It's based on a dish I had at a resturant that was out of this world good. I am thinking if I add orange juice to the pinapple juice for the marinade it will come out good. Because I am finding that the pinapple juice alone doesn't add enough flavor to it. It needs an extra kick and I am thinking orange juice will do the trick. We shall see. I plan to make it again this week. I am also working on a herb chicken dish that uses fresh herbs and olive oil and again that is based on a dish I had. The other day I made a dill salmon dish with rainbow fennel salad with a homemade version of Honey Dijion Mustard Vingeratte. Anyway like I said my head is filled with ideas. I let you know how some of them turn out.

Thinking Out Loud

This is me venting out loud. It's funny how you read something in the paper and the media spins it several hundred different ways. You always have three sides to a story, the media's side, "my" side, and the truth. By "my" side I mean the person the story is about. Watching the news is like watching a really bad horror/comedy/drama. It's not the complete truth. It's what's considered "their" truth, which is not the real story. We never seem to get the real story about anything. But then again what's real? We live in a world where we can't seem to tell the difference between what is real and what is fake. It's like what is real is supposedly so "boring" that it must be uped to appear more than what it is. Where is this little rant coming from? It comes from watching a young girl named Lindsay Lohan basically fall apart before our eyes. Everyone and their mother has an opinion on this whole story. But what it comes down to is this is a young girl clearly in trouble. Where the hell are her parents? Apparently they could less. Her mother would rather be her best friend then her mother. Her mother is a joke. She is just riding her daughters coat tails. This nothing more than a young girl who is going to wind up dead at a very young age because no one is willing to help her. No one is willing to step up and say "Enough!" She needs some serious rehab. And I don't mean some little thirty day stint. That is a joke. She needs to completly disappear and spend at least 6 months to a year in a rehab facility getting some serious therapy. Someone needs to give a damm about this girl instead of keeping their mouths shut and watching her self-destruct. Mark my words she is headed on a dangerous path and it is clear that her parents don't care. They care more about the fame and the money and getting nearly naked pics of them in a magazine (meaning her mother's spread in I think Vanity Fair). It's sick and twisted. Quit doing interviews about your daughter's problems and instead help your daughter before it's too late. What the hell is this world coming to? I am sick and tired of hearing about so and so getting wasted and arrested because some idiot let them go and party. This is girl is underage. It is illegal for anyone to serve this girl alcohol. But it is clear that these bars care more about money then they do about the fucking law. They would rather pay an UNDERAGE girl to come their bar and drink excessivily just so they can make a fucking dollar. No respects the law anymore. No one gives a damm if this chic gets into a car after drinking at their club that she was at because she was paid to be there, and gets into a wrecked and possibly kills herself or someone else. The sad thing is that maybe what it takes for these people to wake the fuck up and realize we need to protect these kids. It is going to take someone dying to get the point across. That is sad. This world is just becoming so sad. It's just sad and very unnecassary. Celebs treat rehab like a revolving door and it needs to stop. Treat it seriously and actually stay there beyond thirty days. You can't possibly cure anything in thirty days. It's a fucking joke. Grow the fuck up and take responsibilty for your actions. If you have to go to jail because you drove on a suspended license then go to jail and quit bitching about it. You broke the fucking law you should have to pay for it. You are nothing more than spoiled rich bitch you needs to be knocked down a few pegs and realize you are nothing more than a self-centered little bitch. GROW UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dilema

First off let me just say I'm okay and back home safe and sound. Okay enough about that.
I have a dilema. There this guy who I've know for a little over 3 years now and let's just say our relationship was far
from platonic. Recently he got married and as a result we have had to end our communication with each other.
The problem is we've gotten so close that it's difficult to not talk to him. I've managed to succeed these last few months and then we thought hurricane rita was going to hit my area and suddenly he contacts me because he was
worried and wanted to know that I was okay. He lives in another state and heard it was suppose to hit the houston/galveston area which is where I live. It didn't but that's not the point. The point is he contacted me and now
he wants to resume our previous relationship. I know I shouldn't because he's married but there is that part of me
that really wants to hear his voice again and it's very tempting to just give in. I just don't know what to do.

Stressed?

You know you're stressed when...
1.Someone pays you a compliment and you take it as an insult.
2. Your boyfriend or girlfriend or spouse offers to cook dinner and you think they're insulting your cooking.
3. You pick a fight just for the sake of fighting.
4. Your partner offers to take the kids out to dinner ALONE.
5. Your watching your favorite show and suddenly find your self yelling at the TV.
6. You start cleaning your already clean house.
7. You start worrying over the simplest of things.
8. You overhear a comment about someone and immediatly personalize it.
9. You turn into a crazed maniac over someone being just under 5mins late.
10. You find yourself creating more stress trying to get out of being stressed.
